Il sorriso della melagrana è giunto a Genova ospite dello Zenzero.
Questa volta la melagrana ha ispirato la creazione di racconti. Qui di sotto vediamo il cartellone dei "contastorie" creato dai partecipanti che ci hanno poi proposto i loro racconti fantastici attraverso parole, gesti, musica e danze.

Avventure nell'arte - Papel Amate

Il primo incontro di "Avventure nell'arte" si è ispirato alla pittura su corteccia, la carta "amate" dell' America Centrale. Questo in foto è un esempio creato da Carol.

Ha frequenza settimanale e la struttura dello studio aperto dalle 16 alle 20 di ogni martedì

Giovedì 8 novembre inizia il corso:
AVVENTURE NELL'ARTE.
Ogni giovedì dalle 18 alle 19,30 si sperimenterà con una diversa tecnica artistica. Ogni incontro è a se stante.

La leggenda di Sleepy Hollow - The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Queste sono alcune foto del nostro intervento all'interno di un lavoro teatrale in un liceo Americano in Germania dove il nostro amico Chris insegna teatro. Ha messo in scena "La leggenda di Sleepy Hollow" da un racconto di Washington Irving, e noi insieme agli studenti abbiamo creato il pupazzo del "cavaliere senza testa", gli alberi e le pietre tombali che fanno parte della scena.

Here are a few photographs of our work in an American High School in Germany. Our friend Chris teaches theatre there and they did a run of Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". We worked with student cast members to create the headless horseman puppet and some eerie trees and tombstones for the scenery.

Il saggio e il folle - The Wise Man and the Fool

Il saggio e il folle è una danza che ha radici nella tradizione ebraica. Ci racconta come il saggio va diritto sulla retta via e raggiunge il "paradiso", mentre il folle va un po' qui, va un po' la, si gira intorno, si perde e si ritrova e ... raggiunge il "paradiso" anche lui.

The Wise Man and The Fool is a folk dance from the Hebrew tradition. The steps tell us the story of the Wise man who goes straight down the road and arrives in "Paradise", while the Fool wanders and turns, gets lost, finds the way and ... arrives in "Paradise", too.

Il sorriso della Melagrana - The smile of the Pomegranate

“Quando vai a comprare una melagrana, scegli quella che ride, che ha una fenditura nella scorza, cosicchè attraverso la sua rotta apertura puoi avere delle informazioni sui semi. Ascolta la risata che mostra l’interno, che spacca lo scrigno del guscio e lascia vedere la perla.”

Le immagini che seguono sono del laboratorio di creatività e performance art tenuto da Spiritree che si è svolto dal 2 all’ 11 agosto all’Eremo di Sant’Antonio alla Palanzana vicino a Viterbo. Vogliono dare un’idea del percorso creativo fatto insieme che si è sviluppato attraverso elementi quali:
i cinque riti tibetani per la preparazione del corpo, mente e spirito;
danze in cerchio;
l’incontro con la capacità comunicativa del proprio gesto e del corpo in movimento;
giochi teatrali e improvvisazioni;
la manipolazione di materiali come il cartone, la rete per i polli, la cartapesta, i colori e le stoffe.

Abbiamo preso come spunto la melagrana e la sua carica simbolica e mitica. Abbiamo tratto ispirazione dalle emozioni e dalle sensazioni che la natura in cui siamo stati immersi e i luoghi dell’Eremo ci hanno suscitato.
Abbiamo scoperto le sfumature dei verdi e toccato la “viriditas” – la forza rigeneratrice della natura.
Abbiamo creato maschere, sculture e un grande pupazzo in cartapesta. Abbiamo raccolto e coreografato il movimento e i gesti espressivi più significativi incontrati durante la sperimentazione.
Al termine dei dieci giorni insieme, si è condiviso il lavoro fatto con gli amici dei partecipanti e dell’Eremo attraverso una performance itinerante.

These photographs were taken during the Spiritree workshop on creativity and performance art held at the Monastery of Saint Anthony at the Palanzana, near Viterbo in Italy, from August 2 - 11, 2007. The images represent various moments of the group creative process which included:
The Five Tibetan Rites for preparing the body-mind-spirit;
Circle dances;
Encounters with the communicative power of gesture and of the body in movement;
Theatre games and improvisation;
Manipulation of materials such as cardboard, chicken wire, papier mâché, paint and fabric.

The symbolic and mythical significance of the pomegranate was our jumping-off point. Our inspirations came from the emotions and sensations we experienced, surrounded by the beauty of the natural setting and the atmosphere of the 16th century Monastery. We discovered myriad shades of green and touched upon “viriditas” - the regenerating force of nature.
We created masks, sculpture and a giant processional puppet in papier mâché.
We selected the most meaningful expressive gestures and movements we had discovered during our experimentation and arranged them choreographically. At the end of the ten days together, we shared our creative work with friends of the workshop participants and friends of the Monastery in an itinerant performance.
